The original Ovation DTP program. Not in the same class as its big brother Ovation Pro but still extremely capable and works on any machine with RO 3.1 or better and at least 2Mb RAM. No problems on S/ARM RiscPC's or RO 4.
Don't be put off by the outrageously low price. This is a very capable (and easy to use) program. If you can't afford (or don't need) the best then you don't have to struggle and try to make do any more.

Ovation fix
The first version released on CD had been optimised for later machines and this can cause a problem with some older models which were trying to use old 2D style templates. This archive contains a modified !Run file to fix this.
Low cost desktop C++ compiler. This new version has new libraries and also includes the Vigil interactive desktop debugger.
Previously published by Beebug the APDL-ProAction version of EasyC has been updated to work with RISC OS 4 and is supplied on CD with !EasyDebug and Manual and Tutorial on the CD in Ovation Pro and HTML format.
Although this a powerful package it's also ideal for the beginner as it's very easy to use and the Tutorial will soon have even a novice producing working programs.
Printed Manuals and Tutorial are available. We supply this separately as it is an expensive item to produce and post and this keeps the cost of the main program down for people who do not require it.

Vigil is a multi-tasking monitor and debugger for use with any program written in any language (C, assembler, Basic, etc). It lets you view and alter a program's workspace and variables while it is actually running on the desktop.
Naturally it's very easy to use and has lots of powerful features and we could fill pages listing them all. However, we're not going to waste the space because at the incredible APDL-ProAction price it's such a bargain that, whether you're an experienced programmer or just a 'dabbler', you just can't afford to be without it.

Highly acclaimed Optical Character Recognition software for RISC OS. Previously published by BEEBUG but now by APDL - ProAction and distributed on CD (floppy disc versions available to order). Sleuth 2 uses a less sophisticated system than Sleuth 3, but although this makes Sleuth 3 more accurate, especially with some typefaces, it's also slightly slower, so the Sleuth 3 CD contains both Sleuth 3 and Sleuth 2. Sleuth 3 can work via TWAIN drivers direct from your scanner.
Another market leader. Simply the best hard disc backup utility available for RISC OS. Does full, incremental and differential backups to any meia, eg. floppy disc, Zip, another hard drive, DataSafe, etc.
There are some very good Freeware programs and one of these could be adequate, but if you want the fastest and best there's only one option, and this is it, especially as APDL and ProAction have taken it over and nearly halved the price to only £14.90 including VAT and UK carriage.

Probably the best known RISC OS database system with a pedigree going right back to the BBC 'B'. All the features you'd expect but without lots of highly complex 'bells and whistles' you don't really need and which would make it difficult to use. MasterFile is probably powerful enough to fill all your straightforward database requirements and it's so easy to use it won't take you days of study to get started.

RiscCAD Professional is a fully featured Computer Aided Drafting program. It does just about everything you would expect from a top class CAD program but at a price so low it's worth buying just to redesign your kitchen. Comes with Libraries for engineering, architectural and circuit drawing, plus example files.

RiscDXF fix
There was a small error in !RiscDXF which caused it to quit with an error saying it couldn't find a file. This has now been fixed and you can download a patch.
Phabulous Phantasm. Lets you manipulate ArtWorks colour tables. That doesn't sound too exciting, but using Phantasm you can (amongst lots of other things) create opaque and metalic efects that would be extremely difficult or nearly impossible by other means. Price is only £9.90 plus £1 UK carriage.
TypeStudio is a complete text manipulation package which can convert outline fonts to draw files, flow text along paths, mould text to shapes and apply special effects. Use it to produce professional quality adverts, posters, banners, logos, letterheads etc.
Built-in tools allow lines and curves to be drawn along which text can be flowed to follow any shape. Pairs of lines may be linked to create shapes into which text (and Draw files!) may be moulded. The resulting object can then be scaled, rotated etc. or have a special effect applied to it.
A wide range of effects can be applied to text. Three types of shadow, slanted or mirrored in any direction, 3D, plinth and column. Effects may be combined giving endless possibilities. TypeStudio is intuitive to use, especially to users familiar with Draw. TypeStudio provides line/curve drawing tools, and options to group/ungroup, scale, rotate, and copy objects.
Designs produced on TypeStudio may be exported as Draw files, or they may be saved in TypeStudio format so that paths, moulds and style attributes are maintained for future editing.
TypeStudio is supplied on CD with a 64-page user guide with and worked examples with step-by-step instructions plus 7 outline fonts. Floppy disc version available.
