Using Eudora Lite

Get Eudora up and communicating quickly with this graphical guide.
By David Flynn

Fine-tune Eudora through the Tools-Options menu. You can prevent Eudora from attempting to go online whenever you use it by selecting the Offline box in the Getting Started category. You can also disable the `splash screen' which appears when you run Eudora by adding the line NoSplashScreen=1 under the [Settings] section of the eudora.ini file.

Eudora's folders and mailboxes can be confusing, especially as there's no reference to folders in the online help. Mailboxes are used to store messages and include the In, Out and Trash areas by default. You can add other mailboxes as needed. These can be listed at the foot of the Mailbox menu (called the `top level') or be nested inside cascading folders.

Manage mailboxes and folders
the easy way through the Tools, Mailboxes menu.

To move a message
from one mailbox to another, select or open the message you want to transfer, then pull down the Transfer menu and choose the name of the mailbox you want to transfer it to. You can also create a new mailbox and transfer a message into it all in one step by choosing New from the Transfer menu.

Regularly send e-mail to a particular person?
Add them to Eudora's message menu by clicking `Put it on the recipient list' in the New Nickname dialogue box.
