7. European powers plan colonization of Africa

From November 1884 to February 1885, representatives of 14 powers, mostly European, met in Berlin to deal with territorial disputes in Africa. The Berlin Conference established guidelines for the European powers to follow in their colonization of the continent. No Africans were invited to the conference.
