The
London spectator
Hazards
- Occasional
fires. Oil lamps and candles used as house lights occasionally
set fire to the draperies and wood walls of the theater houses.
The explosion of guns and other explosives on stage increases
risk of fire. Caution may be observed by taking a seat near the
general exit.
- Epidemics.
Theaters should be avoided during times of plague. Theaters typically
close during serious outbreaks.
- Pickpockets
and cutpurses. Guard your pockets and purses. Pickpockets
and cutpurses often go unnoticed in theater crowds.
