Voices of Native America is a multi-media presentation of traditional and contemporary Native American music, dance, and stories,with a 12 (or more) member cast.The performance embodies 'edu-tainment', entertaining the audience while sharing information about our various cultures. In the full performance, more than 15 Nations are presented. "Voices of Native America" is also available in a children's/school presentation series.

Steeped in the traditions of the Lakota and Dine’(Navajo), Douglas Spotted Eagle presents a unique blend of culture, musically and philosophically. As a musical artist, he has released 11 solo records and performed or produced over 200 collaborations and outside projects. Heard on film in projects such as“The Native Americans”, “500 Nations”, “The Way West”, “The Last Queen”,“Star Wars Ewok” cartoon series, and numerous others for Disney, CBS, Turner,TNT, and Showtime. The HBO special “PAHA SAPA”, scored by Spotted Eagle, earned an Emmy nomination in 1996. His work may also be heard with artists such as Willy Nelson, Peter Buffett, Craig Chaquico, David Arkenstone, and many others. ‘Spot’, as he is known to his friends, was named ‘DEBUT JAZZ ARTIST OF THE YEAR’ in 1996, and his “CLOSER TO FAR AWAY” project was given the honor of being the #5 record of the year.

GAYLE ROSS

The direct descendent of Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, John Ross, Gayle carries her heritage proudly. Known world wide as a storyteller in the Native Americantradition, Ms. Ross has earned several awards including the “CIRCLE OF EXCELLENCE” award from the National Storyteller’s association. She has entertained in the Vice-President’s home, performed before the President of the United States, and other heads of state. Gayle is also the author of 5 books, and two audio recordings. Her stories have fascinated children and adults at all corners of the earth. She has toured with the Plains to Pueblo Native Arts series, performed with Peter Buffett on the 500 Nations tour, and has shared stages with nearly every Native performing artist there is. She also has been a featured performer in Jon Spelman’s American StoryFeast.

 

The Dancing of...
ROB GREYHILL

Rob Greyhill is a Dine’ Native born and raised in Round Rock, Arizona, one of several ‘rez towns’ on the Navaho Reservation. His championship dancing and singing have taken him and his family all across the world, having performed in Japan, Europe, Central America, and Canada. His musical voice is heard in the soundtrack to the CBS series “500 Nations” and the National Park video, “Echoes of Tenaya”. His spoken word work includes voice overs for the McGraw-Hill CD-Rom Encyclopedia, and radio work. Rob also spent a season with Michael Martin Murphy’s “WESTFEST” tour. Rob Greyhill is also an accomplished actor, and is seen in television productions such as “Touched by an Angel”, “Last Chance”, and “Miracles and Other Wonders”. He is also seen as an actor and stunt man on the large screen, really large screen in several IMAX productions, and the films “Mortal Fear”, “Morabunta”, to name but a few.
