: As for drug tests, McDonald's and the other firms have a right to make sure that they are hiring a responsible person. Probationary periods are common, and I have no problem with a new employer checking my background and monitoring my performance during that period. And as long as they are accurate, I have no problem with a random drug test. And if I did get a false positive, hopefully they are not the type to can me, no questions asked.

Everett Citizen:
In the U.S. people are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Drug testing is guilt until innocence is proven! Also, the fourth amendment to the constitution (You know, the Bill of Rights?) specifically states that "The right of the people to be secure in their PERSONS houses, papers and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures SHALL NOT BE VIOLATED and no warrants shall issue but upon probable cause, SUPPORTED BY OATH OR AFIRMATION, and particularly describing the place to be searched and the person or things to be seized." Drug testing is a violation of this specific right, just as installing a video camera in your living room would be.

Bacon:
: As for people having problems with drug tests, well not to accuse anyone, but it makes me wonder about them. I'm not worried because I don't do illegal drugs.

Everett Citizen:
Then why don't you let the employer and his police search your house? your car? your garage? C'mon, you've got nothing to hide, right? It is the same thing.

Bacon:
And again, whether you like it or not, there will be limits and bounaries at the workplace. You won't get your way on everything, and you won't get to do whatever you please.

Everett Citizen:
This attitude, this acceptance of being a domestic animal, just as subservient as cattle, is worse than the attitude of the boss class. They love people like you!

Organize and fire the boss!
