Apple shares reach new all-time closing high.

Shares of Apple, Inc. today rose $6.35, or 2.35%, to reach a new all-time closing high of $276.57.

Trading volume was slightly above average at 23,115,967. Apple shares last set an all-time closing high on June 18, 2010 when the price hit $274.16 and the all-time intraday price is $279.01 set on June 21, 2010.

Market value for the California-based company is currently $252.66 billion. Only Exxon Mobil surpasses Apple in market value whereas Microsoft, Berkshire-Hathaway, and Walmart, respectively, follow Apple among top U.S. publicly-traded companies.

Apple today announced that it is releasing a beta version of its AirPrint wireless printing for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch to members of Apple’s iOS developer program today, and that AirPrint will be included in the free iOS 4.2 software update in November. AirPrint automatically finds printers on local networks and can print text, photos and graphics to them wirelessly over Wi-Fi without the need to install drivers or download software. HP’s existing and upcoming ePrint enabled printers will be the first to support printing direct from iOS devices.

Apple appears to be taking measures to boost iPad production by adding another supplier of touch sensors.

According to DigiTimes, AU Optronics subsidiary Cando will start shipping 9.7-inch touch sensors for the iPad from its newly reformed 4.5G production line in September-October 2010.

The upgraded plant will mainly be producing iPad touch sensors with a monthly capacity close to one million units.

Best Buy to expand iPad distribution to all U.S. stores on...

Best Buy, the largest consumer electronics retailer in the United States, today announced that it will expand availability of Apple’s iPad to all 1,093 stores U.S. beginning September 26th.

Best Buy has been selling the iPad in 673 locations through Apple Shop since the tablet’s launch in early April.

“Technology is becoming more and more personal, and our customers say they really value visiting a Best Buy store to touch and try the iPad for themselves,” said Wendy Fritz, senior vice president of computing at Best Buy.  “We’re delighted that we’ll soon make that opportunity available to everyone who’d like to come see us, and experience this device in any Best Buy store nationwide.”

Apple to launch Wi-Fi iPad in China on September 17.

Apple today announced that the Wi-Fi models of its iPad will be available to customers in China on Friday, September 17 starting at 10:00 a.m.

iPad Wi-Fi models in China will be available for a suggested retail price of CNY3988 for 16GB, CNY4788 for 32GB and CNY5588 for 64GB. iPad will be sold in China through Apple’s Retail Stores, and select Apple Authorized Resellers.

iPad will roll out to many more countries later this year and Apple will announce availability and local pricing for these additional countries at a later date.
