  1. The land  of  Norumbega  was a
  2. generally happy one.    Almost
  3. all of the regions  got  along
  4. well  --  the  country,  city,
  5. sea,  caverns  .  .  .  pretty
  6. much everything  -- except for
  7. the Dark Quarter.
  8.  
  9. The Dark Quarter  is  the land
  10. where  the  evil  Fang    Duck
  11. dwells.    Suddenly,  around a
  12. year ago,  an  urge stuck Fang
  13. Duck  to  take   over  all  of
  14. Norumbega and populate it with
  15. his minions, the ducks.
  16.  
  17. As war was  virtually  unknown
  18. in  Norumbega, it seemed  that
  19. no  one  had the knowledge  or
  20. training  to  stop  Fang Duck.
  21. That's where  Peach,  the Lob-
  22. ster, stepped in.
  23.  
  24. Peach's  coastal  home,  popu-
  25. lated by land crustaceans, re-
  26. cieved  word  of  the invasion
  27. much after the fact.  For some
  28. reason or another,  Fang  Duck
  29. had   missed  conquering  this
  30. community.
  31.  
  32. Dismayed   at  the  news,  and
  33. knowing  that   their  coastal
  34. home  would  soon    be  under
  35. attack,  the community leaders
  36. called  on  Peach, the fastest
  37. land  lobster in Norumbega, to
  38. sneak in  and  oust Fang Duck.
  39.  
  40. Fang Duck would not expect any
  41. attack;   he would assume that
  42. he had already  destroyed  all
  43. his  adversaries.  Armed  this
  44. element of surprise and with a
  45. claw gun (not really a weapon,
  46. but the  closest  thing to it)
  47. Peach started his journey.
