An association organized by Mr Mamoru Shinozaki, Mr G.H. Kiat and Professor Nakajima. This Association was to be the hub for all sporting activities in Singapore. Boxing tournaments and other sports matches were often organized and supported. Even women's boxing tournaments were organized. Soccer and hockey were the main team sports with some badminton being played. However, in general, except for a privileged few, few had time to dabble full-time in sports. The Syonan Sports Association also provided a steady stream of recruits to the Japanese Military Administration for use as labour and later, air raid precaution members. ^^^
