  2. Filk, Faerie, anachrony, anarchy, SF, Fantasy, etc.
  3. Wunderment is a general "let your hair down and relax"
  4. echo where discussion of almost anything is permitted
  5. within the broad range of "good taste" with one exception:
  6. NO Star Trek discussions.
  7. ALL advertising and profanity are prohibited.
  8. Use your favorite alias or your real name. Either
  9. way, you're welcome to come in and join the fun!

  15. The Rules for WUNDERMENT, as previously posted in the echo.
  16. The latest revision of the rules....
  17. (Subject to further change at the whim of the Moderator...}
  18. 1)   Anyone is free to post in here on any topic as long as they behave,
  19. which means, mostly, be nice.  This includes your Poke'mon, too.
  20. 1.275)
  21. While a certain amount of "overlap" and "spillover" is expected, this
  22. is *not* that echo, and is *not* to be compared therewith.  All migrant
  23. Dwarves are expected to keep that in mind, on pain of losing access to
  24. this Wundrous place, and certain other punishments best not mentioned
  25. here.
  26. 2)   This is a "Family Echo" so keep the Adult Language to a minimum.
  27. 3)   Flame-wars and other such "Jihads" are to be taken to FLAME, or
  28. Netmail.
  29. 4)   No /Star/ /Trek/, in *ANY* form.  There are entire networks dedicated
  30. to the subject (HINT).  The *ONLY* exceptions are for taglines.  No
  31. compromises will be made.  This means *you*.
  32. 5)   Worship Spam.  The Spam Goddess is to be placated at all times.  One
  33. way is to use English, which is all She speaks.
  34. 6)   Be especially kind to any and all non- or semi-human inhabitants of
  35. Wunderment, including Elder Gods, whenever the 13th of a month falls
  36. on a Friday.  Also be kind to Cap'n Daft, wherever he physically or
  37. chronologically may be at the moment.
  38. 7)   Don't push the moderator.  He likes to keep moderating to an extreme
  39. minimum, as he tends to go to extremes.  You /don't/ want to find out.
  40. 8)   In any disputes, the decision of the Moderator shall be final, and not
  41. open for discussion.  As he is a collector of blades, you may be sure
  42. he has the sharpest feed-cut sword in FidoNet.
  43. 9)  "Newbie bashing," as in a certain "other" echo, is reserved unto the
  44. powers of the Moderaptorial entities, and will be frowned upon as a
  45. possible violation of rules 1, 1.275, 3 and 12.
  46. 10)  Flirting isn't just tolerated, it's *almost* mandatory.
  47. Offerings of coin and macadamia nut cookies to the Moderator (that's
  48. me) are always accepted.  Oven-fresh preferred.  Flowers and other
  49. gifts intended for the Moderator must be delivered TO the moderator,
  50. WITHOUT diversion, and WITHOUT transmat copying without prior express
  51. permission.  Donations of blades will be held in high regard, but are
  52. not expected.  No one here is rich.  (Damn)
  53. 11)  Real Names are Optional!  Aliases accepted, but not required.
  54. 12)  Thou shalt /NOT/ be "excessively annoying."
  55. 13)  Thou shalt /NOT/ be "easily annoyed."
  56. 14)  *NO* advertising of any sort (New BBSs, Yer band's new CD, "blue light
  57. specials", or ANYTHING else), without the EXPRESS written permission
  58. of the Moderaptor, the Spam Goddess, and the Council of Elders--which
  59. will convene only when February 29 falls on the Friday of a full moon,
  60. but not more than once per Galactic rotation.
  61. Legal Nonsense:
  62. The Moderator of this echo does not recognize ECROC. If that is the
  63. policy of your BBS, I suggest you consider not carrying the echo.
  64. Violations and Punitive Measures:
  65. SERIOUS OFFENSES:
  66. The "Three Strikes" method applies.
  67. Violations will be dealt with via Private NetMail warning for a first
  68. offense, then a public warning in the Echo for the second.  A third
  69. will be followed by NetMail to the offender's Boss Node.  Length of
  70. "quiet time" will be no less than two weeks.  Repeated offenses will
  71. double the initial period, up to a maximum of six (6) months, after
  72. which the perpetrator will be deemed unsalvageable.  This means FOR
  73. LIFE.
  74. The above applies to Rules 2, 3, 12, 13 and 14.
  75. Violations of Rule 4 will be punished by immediate discorporation, ie.
  76. you will be banned from the echo.  There are no second chances for
  77. this offense.  Rule 4 is your *ONLY* warning.
  78. MINOR /FAUX/ /PAS/:
  79. Any violation of Rule 12 shall also be considered a violation of Rules
  80. 5, 6, 7 and 10 and anything else I can arbitrarily dredge up. 
  81. Excessive
  82. violations of Rule 6 may be considered violations of Rules 1 and 12.
  83. Violations of Rule 1.275 will be dealt with [Elsewhere] (the other
  84. echo), where violators can be flayed, filleted, and fried, without
  85. violating any Rules.
  86. WARNING:  Denials of violations will not be of any use, as the
  87. Moderator will save and re-post the messages in question.  He also has
  88. an excellent memory and a mean streak a mile wide.  Arguments will
  89. accomplish nothing more than lengthen your absense.  As stated before,
  90. he prefers to keep Moderating to an extreme minimum, so don't push your
  91. luck.  Sooner or later, it /will/ run out.  Trust me on this...
  92. The Moderator reserves the right to invent rules to cover any situation
  93. not met by the existing Rules.  Be as inventive as you can stand, as
  94. it's /your/ hide, not mine.
