  1.                     Asparagus Soup
  2.  
  3.             2 lb asparagus, diagonally sliced into 1" pieces
  4.             3 leeks, sliced
  5.             4 green onion, sliced thinly
  6.             1 red potato, chopped small
  7.             3 T butter
  8.             4 c water
  9.             1 vegetable, beef or chicken bouillon cube
  10.             1 c cream
  11.             2 T tarragon
  12.             2 T basil
  13.             1 clove garlic, pressed
  14.             1 T soy sauce
  15.  
  16.          Saute vegetables in butter for 5 minutes.  Add water and  bouillon
  17.          cube;  Simmer  5 minutes.  Add remaining ingredients and simmer 10
  18.          minutes more. Serve.
