PRINTING OPTIONS
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Printer Setup -- CBOOK will work with virtually all printers
currently on the market. Most printers have "auto line feed";
they advance the platten at the end of each line. Some older
printers do not have this feature. CBOOK comes to you with the
assumption that you have a printer and that it has auto line
feed. If you need to correct these assumptions, remove
write-protect tab from disk, select # 2 PRINT RECIPES from the
Main Menu and then CHANGE PRINTER SETUP from the Print Menu.
You can print any recipe or recipe portion by selecting "P"
from the on-screen prompts any time a recipe is displayed. Answer
the on-screen prompts to select recipe portion and paper size.
Batch Printing -- CBOOK offers an efficient alternative to
individual printing when you have selected a group of recipes to
print. From the Main Menu, select #2 PRINT RECIPES.
The Print Menu choices offer you two basic options. You may
define the recipes you want printed and choose the way you want
them ordered, or you may print "Marked" recipes. See chapter 2
for an explanation of marking.
Any choice from the Print Menu other than "Print Marked
Recipes" will present you with a search index screen like the one
used to index every recipe in this cookbook. The selection you
made from the Print Menu (Alphabetized by Name, Key Ingredient,
Source, etc.) defines the order in which the recipes appear.
The search criteria that you use on the index screen will
define which recipes are selected from the cookbook to be
printed. For an explanation of these search techniques, see
chapter two.

FORMAT OPTIONS
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Whether you are printing marked recipes or ones selected
through the Print Menu search, CBOOK will present you will
several formatting questions prior to printing.
1. What part of the recipe(s) to print?
All = Screens 1,2,3 of each
Index = Screen 1
List of Ingredients = Screen 2
Instructions = Screen 3
Shopping List = Screen 2
2. Output to Screen or Printer?
P = Printer
S = Screen
A shopping list can only be sent to the printer. If your
system does not ask where to send the recipe, check your
printer setup from the Print Menu to verify that you have
answered the two setup questions properly.
3. Single Sheets?
Y = Automatic pause between sheets.
N = Continuous feed paper, pauses optional.
4. Paper length?
Enter number of lines at 6 lines per inch. (66 for 11"
paper; 24 for 4" x 6" index cards)
5. One recipe per page? Pause between recipes? Pause between
pages? Print recipe number? Print heading?
Answer Y or N to each.
6. Number of copies to print?
Enter from 1 to 999.
7. Interrupting print:

INDEX CARDS
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
CBOOK will print on 4" x 6" index cards only, not 3 x 5. To print
on index cards, you must select a recipe part that will fit
within 24 lines. Normally, you will need only screens 2 & 3.
First mark the recipes to print. Next print screen 2 for each
marked recipe. Turn the cards over, and repeat the printing
process for screen 3. (You do not need to re-mark recipes. They
remain marked until you choose to unmark them, or turn the power
off.)
