Deanne Achong is a visual artist born in Montreal, Quebec. Achong studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and at the University of British Columbia, receiving a Master of Fine Arts degree.
Scope and content
The work, entitled "Soul retrieval charms" by Deanne Achong, 1997, consists of an assemblage of multiple images and dried fruit, including six whole dried limes, fifteen slices of limes, each slice sewn together with photocopies and pantone, seven dried lime halves or caps, and two colour photocopies on irregularly shaped foamcore with manuscript texts on pantone on the verso of each.
