Joanne Ursino is a quilter born in Toronto, Ontario., in 1961. She pursued graduate studies in International Relations at Carleton University, Ottawa.
Scope and content
The collection consists of a black cotton velvet pouch with beaded and ornamented with amulets around its rim, containing a photoprint journal, 23 x 18 cm, intended by Ursino to describe her creative process with current quilts through text and photoprints, 10 x 15 cm, and photocopies from a quilt journal which Ursino has kept over the course of several years, 1997, and also containing a quilt, entitled "Rainbow Love," by Ursino, 1995, in a plastic ziploc bag, and a card box, 10 x 19 x 5 cm, labeled with an invitation and instructions for viewers to "use the fabric and pens enclosed' to write a message for Atley.
