Gail Ouellette is a painter born in Alberta in 1959. he studied at Grant McEwan College, where she received a Visual Art Diploma in 1989, and at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1996.
Scope and content
The collection consists of a card box, 8.5 x 13 x 5 cm, containing a tissue wrapped photoprint image from Ouellette's "Bridge" series of paintings, a 35 mm negative of photographs taken by the artist of her studio (affixed to the box lid), a smaller box containing a heart with stone, a shell, a rose, and a packet of sealed and bound items which include: exhibition labels, unredeemed student loan cheque, personal letter to Ouellette, a photoprint image, and a fragment of Ouellette's journal, as well as a tissue packet, 23 x 28 cm, of a "Bridge" series painting, and exhibition brochures wrapped in tissue, and three dried long stemmed roses.
