Moneca Atley is a visual artist born in Chatham, Ontario, in 1942. She studied at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, and completed Graduate Nursing Training.
Scope and content
The collection consists of a portfolio bound in blue plastic with a three ring binder containing plastic sleeves with statements by Atley, biographies, colour photoprints of work, 10 x 15 cm, and eight watercolour paintings on paper, 10 x 15 cm, and nine pastel sketches on paper of female and male figures, 23 x 30 cm, as well as three plastic laminated colour laser prints on paper, 29 x 38 cm, of works by Atley.
Note
The artist observed: "I love to scribble and paint spontaneously whatever attracts my vision at the time. What is puzzling me in life is how a theme comes to be in my paintings."
