- The information in this article applies to:
-
- - Microsoft Windows NT operating system version 3.1
- - Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- SYMPTOMS
- ========
-
- When the Show Domain Members Only option on the View menu in Server Manager
- is selected, all of the computers in the domain, except for the Master
- Domain Controller, are displayed as unavailable (dimmed or grayed out),
- though they are available to be selected and administered. This is contrary
- to the behavior documented in the Windows NT Advanced Server "System Guide"
- on page 440.
-
- CAUSE
- =====
-
- Enabling this option tells the Server Manager to not invoke the Browser
- when enumerating servers and show only the computers that have accounts in
- the domain. Without Browser information, the Server Manager cannot
- determine whether a given computer is "up" or "down."
