- SYMPTOMS
- ========

- While trying to browse a server in File Manager in Windows NT, you
- may receive the following error message.

- Network Name Cannot Be Found.
-
- CAUSE
- =====
-
- This error can be caused by typing "\\<servername>\"--without the
- quotation marks--(for example, "\\westlab\") in the Path box of the
- Connect Network Drive dialog box. You cannot enter a a trailing
- backslash (\) after the server name.

- The trailing backslash is used when browsing in Windows for
- Workgroups, but this method is not available in Windows NT.

- RESOLUTION
- ==========

- To eliminate this error message, remove the trailing backslash from the
- server name (for example, "\\westlab").

- Steps to Reproduce Problem
- --------------------------

- 1. Open File Manager from the Main group.
-
- 2. Select Disk and choose Connect Network Drive.
-
- 3. Enter a server name in the Path box as follows:
-
- \\server\
-
- 4. Choose OK.
-
- You will receive the above error message.
