OCR: SAGE Native to south-central Europe, this herb, belonging to the mint family is not what you see profusely growing in the southwestern United States in the form of common Sagebush. It has its own place in ancient history and has survived as one of the most well known and used of all herbs. Most commonly the grey-green leaves are dried and "rubbed" or powdered before addition to many food dishes. Fresh sage lends itself to the enhancement of many a masterpiece pork or poultry dish, however . I Sage Tea anyone? Start with a teaspoon of tea leaves, add a D couple of teaspoons of fresh mint and '2 teaspoon of fresh sage. E Steep with 3 cups of boiling water for 5 to 10 min. and add A sugar & lemon to taste. One more good reason to grow your own fresh herbs! Handy!
