  16. Welcome to WWIV Modifications Net Sub.  This sub was founded in 1988 by
  17. William Daystrom <aka> The Captain of the White Star Line (2370 in
  18. WWIVnet).  When Will Daystrom decided to take his board down, the sub
  19. was 'inherited' by Ebony Eyes who was one of the founders of WWIVLink.
  20. When she left WWIVnet to go with WWIVLink, I became the host of the
  21. sub and have hosted it for the past few years.
  22.  
  23. The sub is for the posting of new, original mods only.  There is a
  24. companion sub (Mod Talk & Requests) which is for the posting of
  25. discussion about mods, requests for old or new mods, and for the posting
  26. of old mods (though that is frowned upon as it is better to send them
  27. via E-mail).  The companion sub is also used for discussion about
  28. problems installing mods, using the compiler and so forth.

  30. Originally the two subs were one sub; however, many people wanted a sub
  31. that had nothing but mods on it, so that is the intent of WWIV
  32. Modifications Net Sub.  Posts that are out of place and should be on the
  33. companion sub are moved by me each day and a note is sent to the
  34. individual informing them that their post has been moved.

  36. No one should have post or read access unless they are a registered
  37. WWIV sysop.  No one else should have access to the source code and
  38. therefore no one else should have an interest in what is going on on the
  39. sub.  2You should give this sub an AR that only you as sysop has and
  40. 2then if other sysops want access, send their real name, address at
  41. 2time of registration, and registration number to me for verification
  42. 2before giving them post or read access.0

  44. The sub also has a no cussing, no personal attacks policy.  Posts that
  45. are off-topic or off-color will be deleted.

  47. Posts where the signature and tagline taken together exceed 8 lines
  48. (including blanks) will be deleted.
  49.  
  50. Disclaimers (if used) should not exceed 3 lines.
  51.  
  52. Reposting of old mods is NOT permitted unless revisions have been made
  53. to the mod.  Requests for old mods and/or the writing of new mods should
  54. be made on the companion sub.

  70. Modifications Net Sub...subtype 2370)!

  72. This sub is for conversations about modifying WWIV source code as well
  73. as for the making of requests that someone either create a mod to
  74. perform a particular function or send you a mod that does some
  75. particular thing.

  77. Generally mods should not be posted here unless they are very short.  If
  78. someone asks for a modification and you have it, send it to them in
  79. e-mail as it will save the network as a whole a lot of money.  A post
  80. goes to all 650+ subscribers whereas an e-mail goes only to the one
  81. individual.
