You are now a validated user on The Devil's Doorknob. If you fail
to read this message and later ask a question on something clearly
stated in here, or if you do something wrong that you were told not
to in here, then we will not think very highly of you.
A few short instructions:
If you want to change your alias, or if you move and need to
update your personal information in the user records, e-mail
user #2 to handle that.
If you have a question on how to do something on the board, like
how to quote, or how to post a message, or anything similar to
that e-mail user #3.
For anything that doesn't fit into the two above notes e-mail
user #1.
A few rules (in case you didn't read the newuser message):
This board is primarily a message board, what that means is that
the people who run this board place the message areas in their top
priority. You have to maintain a post/call ratio of 0.500 to play
games and/or download files. A ratio of 0.500 means that you must
average 1 post for every two calls you make. To download there is
a file ratio of 1.000, which means for every 1k that you upload
you get a credit of 1k to download, an even exchange.
If you have chosen an alias that may be rude or offensive, you
will be asked to pick a new alias so that we may change it.
Try not to use bad language in the messages, many of the areas
are networked to other systems, and we have to follow their rules
too. A post on a networked sub with bad language will have to be
deleted, no matter how important the rest of the contents of that
message are.
Do not make meaningless posts simply designed to increase your
post/call ratio. We will know if you have, the post will be
deleted, the ratio credit for the post will be removed, and you
will be warned. If the behavior persists, you will have to be
deleted.
If you choose to use the full screen editor, then you will be
able to use the quoter. When you quote be sure to remove all parts
of the message you are quoting except the exact parts you are
responding to. This ads clarity to your response, and also keeps
the size of the message down which helps out the network boards
that make long distance calls.
Another note on the full screen editor, some users have told me
that their arrow keys fail to fuction, to remedy this situation
I have placed the WWIVEdit help file, which has the keystrokes
to move the cursor as the arrows would, in the G-files section.
To get there just hit G from the main menu.
