  4.    The product entry portion of the display in the lower
  5.    left corner is activated by selecting the proper task
  6.    for PRODUCT under the EDIT menu at the top of your
  7.    screen, using the buttons across the bottom of the
  8.    screen, or using the [F4]/[F5] keys.

  11.    Once a  product  has been  selected using the
  12.    PRODUCT SEARCH button, (magnifying glass),
  13.    selecting EDIT will cause the fields to become
  14.    active and the product's information can be edited.
  15.    If you are  using the  CATEGORIES  method of
  16.    grouping, select your predefined category from
  17.    the drop-list and enter the appropriate information
  18.    in the other fields.

  20.   The  PRODUCT NAME  field  should give a good
  21.    description of the product and will appear on the
  22.    invoice as well as other lists.

  24.    Entering information in the BARCODE field is done
  25.    by left-clicking once in the field. When the barcode
  26.    entry panel opens, either type or scan the product's
  27.    barcode into the BARCODE field, hit the tab key to
  28.    move to the VERIFY field, and type or scan the pro-
  29.    duct's barcode. When the two entries match, the
  30.    panel will close and the barcode will appear in the
  31.    product panel.

  33.    The QUANTITY field will automatically be decreased
  34.    with each sale. When new stock is received, the
  35.    product should be edited and the new quantity up-
  36.    dated.

  38.    When the QUANTITY field decreases to the level
  39.    set in the MIN. field, an alert is generated on the sale
  40.    screen and the item name is added to the  ORDER
  41.    LIST.

  43.    The COST and PRICE fields reflect the price paid
  44.    for the item and the price the item is sold for. 
  45.    When  this information is entered properly, the
  46.    GROSS field will display the profit on the sale.

  48.    The VENDER field holds the name of the company 
  49.    where the item was purchased.

  51.    The SALES TAX checkbox is an important feature
  52.    allowing the user to selectively charge sales tax
  53.    on products. If the box is checked, sales tax will
  54.    be applied to the product on the sale, if it is  un-
  55.    checked, only the actual price of the item will  be
  56.    added to the total sale.

  58.    The BARCODE SEARCH button is used to locate
  59.    products by their associated barcode for editing.
  60.    When the button is pressed, the fields are cleared
  61.    and the program waits for a valid barcode to be 
  62.    scanned. If the barcode is not present, the message
  63.    'Product not found' will be displayed. The user will
  64.    then need to search for the product using the
  65.    product search button. The new barcode can then
  66.    be entered.
