- * Quick Descriptions of configuration options *
-
- Line1: Loading Matrix <message> Seen every login (if enabled)
- Line2: Enter your name? <prompt>
- Line3: Is that your Real Name (Y/n)? <prompt>
- Line4: <All New Callers> Please provide an alias for sign up purposes
- Line5: (-----) Used as a line guide in Msg Editor for Public and Sysop Msgs
- Line6: The Sysop is not available to Chat right now.
-
- Lines 7 - Lines 92 each contain a prompt which is displayed to the caller
- These should be self explanatory. Whatever you enter in these
- lines it will be what your callers will see each time the matrix
- needs to access a particular feature/command which will invoke
- either a prompt or a message.
-
- ANY Valid PCBoard @x Color Code prior to a prompt or message is valid.
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- THIS FILE SHOULD CONTAIN 92 PROMPTS <LINES> ALL LINE CONFIGURATION OPTIONS
- MUST EXIST! YOU MAY NOT SKIP OR DELETE ANY PROMPTS OR MESSAGES! IF YOU DO
- DELETE ANY PROMPTS or MESSAGES then MT-Matrix is not capable of reproducing
- the correct prompts to a caller. ALL Prompts must remain in the order as
- provided by default, you may modify the wording or the colors to your liking
- but you may not switch them around or delete a prompt from this file, doing
- so will cause mt-matrix to not display it's messages and prompts to the caller.
- Also keep in mind that some prompts <i.e. lines 25 & 26> are purposevelly
- indentended a few spaces, this is so when they are displayed to the caller
- they will match <or look cosmetically right> Please observe these few
- instances where indentation is required. If some prompts are changed
- extensively then you should also run the matrix and try out your new
- configuration just to be sure prompts are lined up.
-
-
- !!! IMPORTANT !!!
-
- Prompts or Messages displayed to callers should NOT exceed 79 chars
- per line! <for cosmetic reasons> if they are longer in lenght then
- 79 chars then they will overlap onto the next line, and cosmetically
- they will not look right to callers. KEEP in mind that this 79
- char recommended limit per line EXCLUDES any Color Codes! Color
- codes are translated by MT-Matrix simply as a color therefore they
- do not occupy extra line spaces when displayed to callers <even
- though they will take up extra spaces in this config file>
-
- ANY VALID PCBoard Color Code may be inserted anywhere within the
- prompt in order to colorize them. If no color is specified here,
- then Matrix will default to displaying any prompt or message listed
- within this configuration file to the caller in Dark White = (@X07)
-
-
- !!! ALSO NOTE !!!
-
- It is not recommend that some of these messages to be changed
- extremely! Reason being is because each prompt or message
- displayed to a caller has a certain meaning for the particular
- function the caller happens to be at the time in the matrix.
- You may change the wording to your liking, but of course the
- meaning should remain close enough to the defaults provided
- here.
-
-
- All prompts and messages in this file may be colorized. Simply insert
- the proper PCBoard Color code before the message or prompt listed in
- this file.
-
-
- --- HINTS WHEN CHANGING / COLORINZING PROMPTS & MESSAGES ---
-
- Always first design the prompt or the message without adding any
- color codes to them, this way you will be able to tell the exact
- lenght, so you can be sure they do not overlap the 79 char per
- line recommended limit. Once you are satisfied with the message
- or the prompt which is displayed to callers, then add colorization.
- It is much easier to accomplish clean and good looking prompts and
- messages if you follow this rule. Also note that many of the
- messages in this file are actual prompts which the caller will
- be prompted for options, in these cases DO NOT ADD the ? at the
- end, MT-Matrix will insert them internally, therefore you DO NOT
- have to <NOR SHOULD YOU ADD> a Question Mark "?" at the end of
- any prompt or messages listed within this configuration file.
-
-
-
- !!! WARNING !!!
-
- THIS CONFIGURATION FILE <PROMPTS.CNF> IS REQUIRED FOR THE MATRIX TO WORK!
-
-
-
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- * Detailed Config Option-Descriptions For PROMPTS.CNF file *
-
-
- Line 1: Very first message shown to caller right after connecting to
- to PCBoard. Note that this message can be ENABLED or DISABLED
- via the MATRIX.CNF file line 16. In addition if ENABLED then
- an entry in line 1 of this file MUST EXIST! The message prompt
- can be whatever you choose though! ie <if you changed this
- message to something like "Dropping to Dos " then the caller
- would get a more realistic drop to dos :)
-
- Line 2: Throughout the matrix (for several features) the prompt
- "Enter Your Name" will be displayed to the caller. You may
- change the way this message prompt is displayed to the caller
- For example some sysops do not allow Names to be used for
- sign up purposes if this was the case then this prompt could
- be modified to "Enter Your Alias" instead.
-
- Line 3: The Matrix APPLY Feature {amoung others} will ask the caller
- for his Name or Alias <depending on how you configure line 2>
- This prompt just confirms that the NEW caller is using either
- his real name or his alias. Thus if answering NO to this prompt
- the Apply Function would abort and display the message in Line 4.
-
- Line 4: See Explanations on lines 2 and 3 - This message too is displayed
- to New Caller when using the Apply Features.
-
- Line 5: This is the Line Guide used in both the Post a Public Message
- and Feedback to Sysop Editor.
-
- Line 6: Displayed to caller after using the PAGE or CHAT commands
- To indicate the sysop is not available to chat <if indeed
- the sysop did not answer the page/call> FYI: At this point
- the caller is also prompted if he wish to leave a comment
- to the sysop instead. Also Note that at this point the
- caller is blacklisted from the Page functions. As with this
- version of the matrix the caller can only page the sysop
- once if the caller tries it a second time he will be
- instructed that the sysop had already been paged, and if
- there was no reply then they should leave a comment, and
- once again prompt the caller if he wish to leave a comment
- to the sysops instead.
-
- Lines 7 Through Lines 92:
- Each contain a prompt which is displayed to the caller
- These should be self explanatory. Whatever you enter in these
- lines it will be what your callers will see each time the matrix
- needs to access a particular feature/command which will invoke
- either a prompt or a message.
