- created in Lesson 4. We've saved the
- project for you.

- But, we need to indicate how long each
- task will take so that HTPM can begin
- calculating dates. And, the VP of Sales
- wants to take a look at the plans for
- the booth. She needs to approve them
- before construction gets under way.
- We'll add a task for approval of the
- plans.

- To add task information such as durations, we'll
- use the ~task list~2. Although we could add a
- task here on the PERT chart, we'll also use the

- To display the task list, first pull down the Data
- menu.

- window. At this window you can add more tasks,
- change the order of tasks, or include more
- information about the tasks that are there.

- Right now, you can't see all the columns in this
- window. (Look for the arrow and the word ~More~2 in

- The task list shows the name of each task in the
- first column.

- in this column means the task is a special kind of
- task known as a ~milestone~2.

- A milestone is like a checkpoint that marks the
- start or end of a series of tasks, or an important
- point in the project such as the approval of plans.
- It has no duration, so the ~Planned duration~2 column

- For tasks, the ~Planned duration~2 column shows the
- default of zero. We'll change this column for all
- the tasks.

- The ~Earliest start~2 column shows the same date as
- the planned start for the project until we add
- task durations.

- The first change we'll make is to add durations
- for each task in the project.

- Move the cursor down to the task ~BldBooth~2.

- To add a duration for building the booth, move the

- calculates the earliest start dates for as many
- tasks as it can.

- If your project is large, the time it takes for
- these calculations can be lengthy. Let's ask HTPM
