  1. Splodge has to complete each level by reaching the exit.
  2.  
  3. There are enemies in some levels which have to be avoided. This can be
  4. done by pressing up and forming a tunnel for the enemy to pass through
  5. or if you are on a platform by pressing down to go through the platform.
  6.  
  7. Along the bottom of the screen is a bar that goes from left to right. If
  8. youallow the bar to reach the right hand side of the screen then you
  9. will lose alife. At the end of each level you get points for the
  10. remaining time you have left.
  11.  
  12. There are various items in levels that can be used to your advantage
  13. these are:
  14.  
  15.  Trampolines - If Splodge falls on one of these he will be launched back
  16.                up where he came from.
  17.  
  18.  Launcher - Splodge gets sucked in by this and is fired upwards.
  19.  
  20.  Fake Walls - Some walls may look ordinary but when you walk into them
  21.               you go right through.
  22.  
  23.  Invisible Walls/Platforms - Some seemingly empty spaces may contain a
  24.               wall or platform that you can't see.
  25.  
  26.  Transporters - Enter one of these and you are transported to a
  27.                 different area in the level.

  30. Also around some of the levels are power-ups, these are:

  32.  Freezer - Freezes all the enemies in that screen for a short period
  33.  
  34.  Extra time - This resets the timer to zero giving you more time to
  35.               finish the level.
  36.  
  37.  Extra life - Gives you an extra life.
  38.  
  39.  Bonus - A straightforward points bonus.
  40.  
  41.  Gun - After collecting this, Splodge has the ability to change into a
  42.        gun and fire. This is done by pressing return.
