- Since the enemy’s supply network was destroyed in your
- last mission we thought that they would be retreating.
- Instead they are obtaining fresh supplies at the front
- line every day.
-
- Yes, those blighters have opened up that old coastal
- railway and are running two Trains continuously. The
- railway is on the mainland to the east of the aircraft
- carrier. At the moment the Trains are heading north
- from their supply station and appear to be only lightly
- armed.
-
- Destroy both the Trains and the Munitions Supply
- Station but expect good air cover. This time they won’t
- be so careless.
- *
- The enemy has become well established at the two
- airfields on the mainland. The army complains that
- sustained enemy air sorties have been hindering their
- advance and generally making life uncomfortable.
-
- Your orders are to destroy the Control Terminals and
- Headquarters at each runway.
-
- One other point, resistance groups are watching both
- airfields. If you destroy all opposition at the
- airfields you will be able to land and their chaps
- will refuel and repair you.
- *
- Well done! For a landlubber you certainly put up a
- jolly good show.
-
- Our army is advancing steadily now that the enemy is
- badly supplied and has poor air support. With their air
- force in disorder we’re attacking the beaches and
- meeting only limited resistance.
-
- For your courage and steadfast devotion to duty I hereby
- award you with the Distinguished Flying Cross ( D.F.C. ).
