  17. I heard the story at Caltech in Spring 1975. Feynman was never mentioned --
  18. it concerned a geology final with a grad student lugged in. The story is
  19. somewhat plausable, given that (a) Caltech students are famous for pranks and
  20. (b) open-book exams are quite common there.

  22. If anyone wants to trace this back in hopes of finding an actual event, I can
  23. provide the name of the math TA we called "Father Captain Doctor". (A Novitiate
  24. in ROTC completing his PhD in Math).
