- Was there any further followup in the newspapers on the two problems at
- New York (the "false start" and the blockage of the 3rd place finisher),
- for example, by Joe Concannon of the Boston Globe?

- Both problems have occurred in other races (for example, the duel between
- Salazar and Durden at Boston in, umm, 1982 or thereabouts when Durden was
- blocked off by a gaggle of motorcycle policemen "accompaning" Salazar to
- the finish). New York has a horrible logistical problem due to the size
- of the field and the three-level start.
