- My 82 Buick Century (3.0 liter, 6 cyl) has a Rochester 2EME carbuerator.
- Having just dished out about $30 to replace the rear vacuum break, I am
- now wondering why there are two vacuum breaks.
- I have several manuals that show how to adjust them, but none state the
- function. Chilton says that the front is for lean, and the rear for
- rich, and the choke plate specs are consistent with this. But it appears
- to me that both pull shut as soon as the car starts and the carb pulls
- vacuum, so what's the need for two?
- Do these relationships change under load? Is one just a backup if the
- other fails?
