- I am interested in putting a 5spd manual transmission in a `61
- Chevy Truck. I currently have a 3spd manual which causes the
- truck to run at high RPM's during highway driving. I would
- love to convert to a 5spd manual. I suspect that the 5spd
- manuals that Chevrolet has been putting in there full sized
- trucks the last few years might work (with a few mods). Can
- anyone tell me where to start. How can I determine bolt pattern,
- transmission length, etc. Are there books that might give
- me adequate cross reference data? Has anyone seen an article
- concerning this mod?
-
- Thanks,
