- I don't think there is an answer. You may never need them, but it may happen
- that you would be awfully glad that you saved them.

- About one year ago in Milwaukee one gentleman received a statement from police
- department that he did not pay parking tickets (and/or something else) dated
- several years ago. According to the statement, this gentleman owed several
- hundred dollars (fees, interest). He was lucky to save old cancelled check
- (if I'm not mistaken, approx. 8 years old) so he could prove that he in fact
- has paid everything in time.

- So just put everything for each year in a separate bag and store somewhere in
- your basement. That's the way I do.

- Get IRS Tax Guide on the topics you file usually your taxes. There should be
- something about that (concerning papers they may be interested in).
