  21.  A report from Moscow says Russia is planning to transfer $500
  22. million worth of weapons and military technology to China in
  23. partial repayment of credits from Beijing.
  24.  
  25. Russia's Interfax news agency says that during recent negotiations
  26. in Moscow, Chinese military leaders voiced interest in acquiring
  27. aviation technology and equipment for anti-aircraft systems,
  28. including the newest SU-27 and the MIG-29 fighter planes.

  30. Interfax said China was also interested in other aircraft, as well
  31. as ships, diesel submarines and weapons for land troops, worth $1.2
  32. billion. The report said China was expected to place large orders
  33. with Russia's military-industrial complex and was interested in
  34. having Russian experts help renovate China's defense industry.

  36. As of Oct, the report says, Chinese credits to Russia totalled just
