  10.   Some friends of mine are trying to back up 5 diskfull SPARCs to
  11. one 8mm tape. They're currently writing the tape index to disk since
  12. they cannot determine a good way to put it at the start of the tape
  13. and to still be able to retrieve the rest of the tape at a later
  14. date.

  16.   I seem to recall that this was possible, but I can't remember how.
  17. Any leads would be most appreciated.

  19.   Also, are there any good public domain backup utilities for
  20. this sort of environment available? Thanks very much.
