  16. Mac IIx.  It's not the computer's problem, and I found out that it isn't
  17. PageMaker's problem.

  19. Turns out that the same problem can be demonstrated simply from Finder
  20. 7.1. It has something to do with the new 7.2.1 LaserWriter driver. 
  21. Here's how you can test it with your IIg (or perhaps any printer with
  22. gray scaling ability -- you must have System 7.1 installed):

  24. Set your screen to at least 8-bit color mode (256 colors), open a window
  25. in the Finder that shows a bunch of the light-blue folder icons, then choose
  26. Print Window from the File menu.  Make sure to check the Color/Gray scale
  27. button in the print dialog.

  29. Tell me if you don't get a page with odd-shaded folder icons (quilting or
  30. cross-hatching anomalies).  Tell me (and Apple) if you do.
