You'd buy the 14" for these reasons: It's brighter, lighter, somewhat smaller, newer, and has a built in tilt swivel base.
On the other hand....It does not have a manual degauss button...Either the power cord or interface cord is not detachable....It costs more than a liquidated 13"...and no, you don't get an extra inch. They use the same size tube. Apple was just being honest when they said 13" RGB monitor. The designation 14" is just a marketing thing....(14" tube but you only get to see 13" of it).
