- Hi netters,
-
- I need your advice for my following serial port configuration.
-
- com1 : mouse
- com2 : network
- com3 : modem (IRQ 5).
-
- I have two printer ports, but I never use 2nd printer port. This 2nd
- parallel port can't be disabled because I have to disable the com2
- to disable LPT2.
-
- I expected I can use IRQ5 because I don't use LPT2.
- Problem is that I can't get through dialing routine in Procomm if
- mouse (COM1) driver is installed. I tried to exchange mouse and
- network on com2 and com1 respectively. Same problem. After
- installing network driver, modem didn't work. Without installing
- either drivers, it worked fine.
-
- What I don't understand is I use IRQ5 ( I can select between IRQ2
- for com4 or IRQ5 for com3 , or regular IRQs). There shouldn't be
- any conflict, isn't there?
-
- I'll appreciate your help.
