- Having seen several posts on the Net asking about V-Com, I thought
- I would relate my experience. I ordered a 486sx/25 machine with
- local bus 24-bit video, Maxtor 105mb drive, 8 meg ram, Mag flicker
- free monitor, and a tower case. Total cost $1674 + $105 shipping.
-
- I had to wait six weeks for the system, which I gather was not
- uncommon for orders placed in September. The phones at V-Com are
- often busy, the people who answer them are rude, and their personnel
- did not return calls when I left messages. Tech support is busy,
- but the people were able to correctly diagnose a flipped floppy disk
- cable.
-
- The machine runs great- blazes through Wing Commander and
- has had no trouble with OS/2 2.0. I'd recommend V-Com to anyone
- with little money and the ability to deal with long waits.
