- As a sales person that actually has to sell the machines to customers
- I can tell you that it is hard to tell a customer that it doesn't have
- a high density drive and then to tell them it's a better machine than a clone.
- I have to start making excuses. And then when they say "well, can I have
- you put one in it?" I have to tell them no becouse Commodore won't sell me
- the drive by itself.
-
- Lets just say that it *has* made me loose sales becouse people don't think
- the Amiga is keeping up with the competition.
-
- And the HD drive can't add over $100 to the cost of the machine... I know
- pleanty of people that would have *gladly* laid dow annother $100 for a
- HD drive... just becouse that's what everyone else has.
-
- CBM should seriously consider shipping the 1200 with an HD drive in the
- US... I think they would gain more sales from having the HD drive than the
- extra cost would loose.
-
- Besides? What market research went into the decision to have a low density
- drive??? You *certainly* didn't ask us which would sell better!!!!
-
- If marketing has any questions, maybe they should ask their dealers before
- they decide whats best for them.
