- Thank you Dave and the others who have responded. After reinstalling the
- GA about the....<count on fingers...too many..add toes also:>..maybe
- eleventh time, I retried ALT-F1 (at least the 3rd installation on which
- I tried this) and on the rebuild it actually started the WPS and a _few_
- of the normal icons/folders showed up. Much enthused, I gave os2 the
- old three finger salute and ALT-F1'd again. Yes, and the house fell
- on the old wicked witch of the west (MS) and a full WPS with everything
- as it should be displayed its radiance to me on my screen and
- I lived happily ever after. That is until I tried to get my CMS tape drive
- to fully work and tried to test any decent os2 shareware comm program
- with decent downloading, non-text-box display (too slow on Speedstar) and
- working vt100 emulation (unlike te/2 which I am currently trying the
- latest hobbes vers. of and who's vt100 makes Pepe-Le-Pue (sp?) smell
- like roses).
-
- Thanks to all, I and the IBM analyst assigned to me had no clue as to
- why this should have worked on the (n+1)th try and not the others,
- but IT WORKED. In his immortal word, "Well now you're running and that's
- the important thing."
