- I am sorry to barge in this thread like so ... it is only recently
- that I started working seriously in and around WP to customize it to
- my liking.
-
- My system being used by a second person who studies psychology. She
- uses the computer to do her reports and now that she had become
- uccostemed to the object-oriented approach, she is starting to enjoy
- using a computer which is big plus to the WorkPlace Shell, given that
- she has bad memories of the c: prompt
-
- One of the few soar points is the recovery of deleted files. She still
- has to:
-
- 1. open a Os/2 window
- 2. cd to the directory corresponding to here folder
- 3. issue the command "undelete file name"
- 4. close back the window
- 5. Apply a "refresh command" to the folder"
-
- This is unduelly complicated.
-
- What she would like is something similar to what she saw on the Mac: a
- trashcan which can be opened and from which one may remove objects.
-
- Under the curent setting, Each partition has its own Delete folder. I
- was wondering if it was possible to
-
- a) make one delete folder for all partitions.
- b) hook the trashcan to that folder
-
- In this case it becomes easy to retrieve thrown-away objects.
-
- Based on the above I have two questions ?
-
- What does Douglas means by "throwing away the trashcan" ? Emptying
- the Delete folder ? Is the trashcan related to the Delete folder at
- all ?
-
- Is my tentative approach valid ? Are they problems I did not forsee
- ?
-
- Please do post suggestions, ideas, approaches and I will summerize and
- even suggest an inclusion into the FAQ. If this is being done already
- I apologize in advance.
