- Sorry Fernando, but I do not think you are correct in your recommendations.
- While it probably WILL work, the way that I think this is supposed to be
- accomplished is the following:
-
- 1- Start in any OS/2 screen-mode you can get to work.
- 2- Start a full dos session.
- 3- Type: SVGA off
- 4- Run the VMODE dos program which came with the SpeedStar to
- customize your your screen refresh rates by choosing the correct monitor,
- be it one of the default ones or one you have customized. I personally
- Type VMODE MONITOR, then VMODE VESA to load the VESA refresh rates.
- 5- NOW type: SVGA ON
- 6- Type 'EXIT' to exit the full screen dos session.
- 7- Shut down your system.
- 8- Now you can startup your system again to do whatever you must
- to select the 1024x768 mode.
-
- I firmly believe this will work. This way I think that it is not necessary
- to have vmode run from your startup.cmd or autoexec.bat files. This may be
- wrong, in which case I apologize for misinforming anyone and I would
- appreciate someone gently pointing this out.
-
- Andreas.
