- Since I received a number of requests for the Terms of Reference of
- our CWIS committee, I am sending them to the list:

- Subcommittee on the Campus-Wide Information System (CWIS)
- Terms of Reference

- The Subcommittee on CWIS is a subcommittee of the Academic Computing
- Services Committee with responsibilities relating to the Campus-Wide
- Information System maintained by Academic Computing Services.

- Membership:
-
- 1. A minimum of one member each of the Academic Computing Services
- Committee, Committee on Research Computing, and Committee on
- Instructional Computing, appointed by the respective committees.
- 2. An advisory member from Academic Computing Services, appointed by
- the Director, Academic Computing Services. This member has a voice but
- no vote.
- 3. One member of Faculty who is not a member of ACSC, COIC or CORC.
- 4. One staff member who is not a member of ACSC, COIC or CORC.
- 5. One student member to be appointed by the Student Society.
- 6. Additional members chosen to provide a balance of representation
- from the University community, to be determined by ACSC.

- The committee will select a chair from among its members and will
- report to ACSC regularly on its activities.

- Charge:
-
- 1. Establishing and reviewing policy and procedure for the operation
- of the CWIS.
- 2. Maintaining liaison with representatives of Academic Computing
- Services on the operation of CWIS.
- 3. Maintaining liaison with the providers of information contained in
- CWIS.
- 4. Determining regulations governing access to and fair use of
- information contained in CWIS.
- 5. Determining standards of legality and propriety for the content and
- purpose of information contained in CWIS.
- 6. Approving format and interface requirements for the display of and
- access to information in CWIS.
- 7. Establishing regulations to protect the security of information
- stored in CWIS.
