  13. Since I received a number of requests for the Terms of Reference of
  14. our CWIS committee, I am sending them to the list:

  17. Subcommittee on the Campus-Wide Information System (CWIS)
  18. Terms of Reference
  19.  
  20. The Subcommittee on CWIS is a subcommittee of the Academic Computing
  21. Services Committee with responsibilities relating to the Campus-Wide
  22. Information System maintained by Academic Computing Services.
  23.  
  24. Membership:
  25.  
  26. 1. A minimum of one member each of the Academic Computing Services
  27. Committee, Committee on Research Computing, and Committee on
  28. Instructional Computing, appointed by the respective committees.
  29. 2. An advisory member from Academic Computing Services, appointed by
  30. the Director, Academic Computing Services. This member has a voice but
  31. no vote.
  32. 3. One member of Faculty who is not a member of ACSC, COIC or CORC.
  33. 4. One staff member who is not a member of ACSC, COIC or CORC.
  34. 5. One student member to be appointed by the Student Society.
  35. 6. Additional members chosen to provide a balance of representation
  36. from the University community, to be determined by ACSC.

  38. The committee will select a chair from among its members and will
  39. report to ACSC regularly on its activities.

  41. Charge:
  42.  
  43. 1. Establishing and reviewing policy and procedure for the operation
  44. of the CWIS.
  45. 2. Maintaining liaison with representatives of Academic Computing
  46. Services on the operation of CWIS.
  47. 3. Maintaining liaison with the providers of information contained in
  48. CWIS.
  49. 4. Determining regulations governing access to and fair use of
  50. information contained in CWIS.
  51. 5. Determining standards of legality and propriety for the content and
  52. purpose of information contained in CWIS.
  53. 6. Approving format and interface requirements for the display of and
  54. access to information in CWIS.
  55. 7. Establishing regulations to protect the security of information
  56. stored in CWIS.
