- Two useful pieces of free software I use a lot are:
-
- gnuplot for 2D and 3D graphics. gnuplot is available for MS-DOS, UNIX,
- and other OS's. You can get it by anonymous ftp (check archie
- for a site near you).
-
- bibdb for managing bibliographic references under MSDOS. bibdb works
- with BibTeX-compatible bibliography files, so you can use it
- in conjunction with bibTeX and either LaTeX or TeX (there's an
- excellent free TeX implementation called emTeX for MSDOS and
- OS/2). emTeX and bibdb are both available at many sites by
- anonymous ftp (again, check archie for a site near you).
