- Nope, you remember wrong. For elements, the order is (starting with the
- best) silver, copper, gold, aluminum. Platinum is only average - it is worse
- than iron or nickel, but better than lead (and about one fourth the conductivity
- of gold). This is for room temperature, so if platinum has a significantly
- lower temperature coefficient is could be better at high temps, but the temp
- coeff. near room temp for Pt and Au are quite similar.

- (or more appropriately lack of reactivity), which gives them a durability
- advantage. This is why the best conductor, silver is not commonly used
- unless in a very unreactive environment. In addition, Pt surfaces are often
