- Regarding problems printing on Deskjet 500s, I'll just add 3 or 4 cents
- worth (1967 dollars): I've been using the non-Lingua version with
- the DJ500. The driver works fine for basic stuff, but still needs some
- refinement for things like sub/superscripts. The method for scripting
- was changed between the beta and "final" release versions - neither
- approach is entirely satisfactory. The first used smaller fonts, and tended
- to shift the scripts too much. The later version used the same size font,
- and a half-line shift. As far as using non-built-in fonts (e.g. cartridges),
- NBI is still working on that. Same for downloadable fonts available from
- HP. I spoke to Rebecca about this about a month ago, and she said she might
- be able to polish up the drivers that weekend (I hope they're paying her
- a lot), but alas, I never heard from her again. I recommend DJ users
- send imploring/begging/threatening letters (as appropriate to your
- personality) and maybe NBI will get around to completing these drivers
- sooner.
