- As a matter of fact, any jet larger than a business plane relies heavily on
- reverse thrust and spoilers/air brakes (large segments of the wing which
- snap up on hydraulics to turn wing lift into wing drag) to lose high
- end speed. The physical anti-lock disc brakes on the wheels aren't very
- useful at all until the plane is down below 60kph or so.

- For comparison, imagine a large, fully loaded 18-wheeler barrelling down
- a straight road at about 300mph on bicycle tires, and you'll get an idea
- of what it takes to stop say, a medium size 737.
