  21. I agree completely ... so lets focus on the inital statements Marc made
  22. that lead to this debate ... here they are, quoted directly from his post:

  36. Xenix machines.  People who are already on Xenix should not be forced
  37. to move to Unix, but they should be gently encouraged to make the leap
  38. at an appropriate time.  For example, when they're considering an
  39. upgrade from Xenix 2.3.2 to Xenix 2.3.4; or when they're considering
  40. getting a new hard drive.
  41. Face it, folks.  The world is moving towards POSIX and other standards
  42. more every day.  With this in mind, it just doesn't make sense to
  43. choose a bastardized SVR3-wannabe for new installations.  The falling
  44. price of hardware has made all but irrelevant the consideration that
  45. Xenix runs in less RAM and takes less CPU horsepower than Unix.  Xenix
  46. no longer has any real reason to exist, except for the people that
  47. have an existing Xenix installation.

  51. Correct me if I'm wrong Marc, but this last sentence summarizes your whole
  52. point:   Xenix has no reason to exist except for existing Xenix sites
