- I have a medium-sized multi-vendor Unix environment. It was born a number
- of years ago and I am now having some concerns about user IDs (UID) and
- group IDs (GID). We have have used most of the UIDs and GIDs less than
- a 100 and was wondering if I really should think about moving those above
- 100. Does any of the standards defined today or in the process for the
- future state that these should be greater than 100.
-
- This has all come about as a result of SCO Unix being added at it wanting
- you to use UIDs greater than 100 which can be a real pain for NFS doings.
