  12.    Was wondering if maybe somebody could help me with this one:
  13.      Something somewhere is screwed up with my NeXTStation Mono ('040,
  14. not turbo).  It seems to run normally, except that running certain
  15. processes causes the system to hang.  When one of these processes is
  16. run, it hangs, and sometimes "takes the machine with it", that is, any
  17. new process that gets started will hang also.  Other times I can just
  18. switch to another application and ignore the one that hung.  I am
  19. running NextStep version 2.1.  I know that NetHack v3.0j, MontserScope
  20. and Stuart will cause these problems to occur.  Interestingly, Terminal
  21. will run without causing a hang.  Also, any sort of Open panel seems to
  22. cause a hang.
  23.      I never have problems like this in single user mode.  I know that
  24. nethack will run, and haven't hung the machine while in single user
  25. mode.  Does anybody have any clue as to what's going on?  Any help would
  26. be appreciated greatly as just about half of the programs I run seem to
  27. crash.
