- Was wondering if maybe somebody could help me with this one:
- Something somewhere is screwed up with my NeXTStation Mono ('040,
- not turbo). It seems to run normally, except that running certain
- processes causes the system to hang. When one of these processes is
- run, it hangs, and sometimes "takes the machine with it", that is, any
- new process that gets started will hang also. Other times I can just
- switch to another application and ignore the one that hung. I am
- running NextStep version 2.1. I know that NetHack v3.0j, MontserScope
- and Stuart will cause these problems to occur. Interestingly, Terminal
- will run without causing a hang. Also, any sort of Open panel seems to
- cause a hang.
- I never have problems like this in single user mode. I know that
- nethack will run, and haven't hung the machine while in single user
- mode. Does anybody have any clue as to what's going on? Any help would
- be appreciated greatly as just about half of the programs I run seem to
- crash.
