  28. I don't want to start the eternally unsolved thread of which is better again,
  29. but, you seem to be missing the points that:
  30.   (1)  Clock speeds are not the correct way to benchmark how fast a computer
  31.        really is.  With pre-fetching and other niceties that the MC680x0's
  32.        offer, I have not seen a 33MHz '486 _PERFORM_ as fast as my Mac.  The
  33.        '486 machines spend too much of their processing time dealing with a
  34.        ridiculously out of date OS called DOS, and then a DOS program which
  35.        pretends to offer a GUI for PCs called Windows.
  36.   (2)  The people who buy Macs spend money for the quality components which
  37.        Apple uses, much like those expensive IBM brand PCs.  They cost more,
  38.        but everything is supposed to be compatible, and there are less problems
  39.        down the road with the equipment.  Saying you bought "...a 386DX ..."
  40.        doesn't impress me, nor shall it ever.  If I wanted a cheap computer, I
  41.        could have bought some clone.  I wanted a good computer, where a word
  42.        processor doesn't include 4 disks of printer drivers, the File menu
  43.        always has Save in the same place, and I don't need to own a single
  44.        piece of equipment or software from the ultimate megacorporation for
  45.        being unresponsive to industry guidelines, MicroSloth.
